OUR PLANS OF EXPANSION AND OUTREACH:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

As an organization, we have been focusing on urban-based issues and have been operating in the urban areas for a long time as we initially started working for railway platform children(Run away from their homes) landing in Hyderabad city and are prone to several addictions and exploitation by the distractors in the society. Later on, we have transformed into institutional mode by providing support to the orphan children in terms of education and other residential amenities along with career guidance.<\/span><\/p>\n

But as an organization with broad aims and objectives, we have been involving in several right based activities with again a focus on protecting the rights of women and children in distress.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over a period of time, we started brainstorming and started identifying the issues prevalent in rural areas of the State of Telangana where we have stronghold as the members of our Governing Board and our Executive Director has put on more than 20 years of experience in handling the issues at rural front. Though we have not seen acute economic vulnerability in clustered geographical areas, the area of 2 to 3 Districts has serious issues scattered across the communities affecting the lives of farmers, women, children, and communities at larger. Hence we are approaching the likeminded agencies for support to initiate programs to address the issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

MAJOR AREAS OF CONCERN TO BE ADDRESSED:<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

  • Girl child and women abuse issues are prevalent in tribal areas of the lambada community (Banjaras) who form a remarkable population living in small hamlets of the State of Telangana.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Recurring losses being incurred by farmers due to escalating crop investment for using in exorbitant quantities of pesticides for which we are planning to educate farmers on nonpesticidal management and also advocate with the Government for getting remunerative prices for crop produce.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • As an extension to agricultural interventions, we want to promote FPOs (Farmer Producers Organizations) and encourage the farmers to get into marketing through which they can get a better price for their produce and also bulk procurement of seeds & fertilizers at a lower cost to increase the profit margins.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • As far as education is concerned there are issues right from classroom processes to learning levels of children coupled with several infrastructural problems.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • The current situation in the rural areas of the State of Telangana witnessed an increasing number of cases with regard to family disputes, separation & domestic violence which is not only influencing the families but ultimately affecting the children and their careers. Hence we are planning to provide counseling centers at each Mandal level with extension workers placed at the village level and finally facilitate them to approach appropriate legal avenues to get the problems solved.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • We want to establish a Caring community for children, women, and elderly people for their protection & enabling them to freely access their rights.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Networking with other NGOs and various other stakeholders such as the Government, Corporate houses, CBO\u2019s, professionals, the business community, Academic institutions, and concerned citizens towards attaining the objectives of the organization and wellbeing of the target communities.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Apart from all these interventions AASHRAY is always attentive to address the emergency situations, natural disasters, and calamities<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
